Karlsvogna Children and Development Centre is ready!
Karlsvogna Children and Development Centre is ready to take in children from February 2013. A committee is in charge of choosing children for the centre based on their need to stay there. This is to ensure that the chosen ones are the ones that need it the most. Most of the children will either be orphans or from homes with no follow-up and they are extremely poor.

Great success with the greenhouses in the schools
The onions produced in the schools are selling for 20-30 shillings. They harvest a lot. To compare, a day salary in Gombolo is around 100 shillings. (6.5 NOK or 1 USD). The income is used to purchase food for the children in the primary schools. 1 kg white mais costs almost the same as one onion (38 shillings). Earlier, we fundraised cash for school-food, now the schools buy the food themselves. Thanks to all of you who are helping us changing the world for so many people, especially the small children!
The teachers can give the children food from the sales of vegetables produced in the sponsored green houses.
Health clinic has now safe water supply!
This summer we’ve funded about 60.000 NOK (10.000 USD) to lay pipes to the Birth Clinic in Katangi, Kenya. The clinic serves about 50 000 people. Here you can read Anne’s blog about the project.
